The AQ3 Vent Kit (4TWHVK3S) transforms the Bosch AquaStar 2400E / Bosch AquaStar 250SX / Bosch 635ES into a direct vent, room-sealed combustion tankless hot water heater.
The Bosch AquaStar 2400E / Bosch AquaStar 250SX / Bosch 635ES tankless water heaters can obtain combustion air from outside the home (recommended) or potentially from ambient air inside the home (depending on your available air volume).
It is recommended to use the AQ3 Vent Kit to pipe the combustion air from outside the home as this is less expensive air (non-conditioned) and outdoor air is generally cleaner air, allowing for less maintenance on the water heater and a longer life expectancy of the Bosch AquaStar 2400E / Bosch AquaStar 250SX / Bosch 635ES.
Check your heater's Installation Manual to determine if you have enough available air volume inside to properly supply its air intake needs.
If you will be terminating the vent pipe from the Bosch AquaStar 2400E / 250SX / 635ES horizontally out a sidewall, the AQ3 Vent Kit is required.
Please note that the AQ3ES Vent Kit is the correct vent kit for the Bosch AquaStar 2700ES /2400ES tankless water heaters.
The 3" AQ3 Vent Kit includes:
- 3" adjustable adapter vent pipe (11.5" to 15")
- 3" 90 degree elbow
- 3" wall thimble
- 3" exhaust vent termination box with 10" sleeve
- 3" intake vent termination box with 10" sleeve
- 3" X 10' aluminum flex pipe (for inlet air)
- 3" gear clamps (3)
